On behalf of Archbishop J. Michael Miller and the entire Project Advance team, we thank you for your support. This year, in response to the needs that arose from the pandemic, a Crisis Response Fund was established. This fund distributed grants to various Catholic organizations that helped provide support to the most vulnerable. 70.8% of the total funds raised will be rebated back to parishes (a record amount) for their specific needs. Addiction Recovery & Domestic Abuse
Talitha Koum Society – Recovery Homes – Supports and shelters women who suffer from addictions and other substance abuse.
Domestic Abuse Services – A non-profit organization that assists women and children seeking safety or recovery from domestic abuse.
Christian Addiction Recovery Ministries Society – A lay ministry that relies upon God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ as cornerstones for long term addictions healing.
Sancta Maria House – A Catholic Christian healing and recovery home that provides support, direction, and encouragement for women suffering from trauma and substance abuse.
Agape Street Ministries – Work to bring the Love of Jesus to women who work in the sex trade and/or have drug or alcohol addiction.
Homelessness & Food Security
St. Vincent De Paul Society – Vancouver – A lay Catholic organization who mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, and joy.
All Were Filled – Meal Distribution – A ministry of distribution of frozen meals to families who have been hard-hit by the pandemic, have lost jobs and income, and are having a hard time making ends meet.
The Door is Open – A drop-in ministry that provides food, clothing, counselling, and shelter services and referrals. It is a warm and safe environment located in the heart of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Men’s Shelter – Downtown Vancouver – Seek to model the caring and compassionate spirit of Jesus by providing shelter and care for transient or destitute men in downtown Vancouver.
Mental Health & Spiritual Support
Sanctuary Mental Health – Deliver programs that prepare people of faith to support mental health issues and recovery in the community
Columbus Residence – A faith-based organization providing long-term Care and Independent Housing
L’Arche – Provides homes and programs for people with special needs
St. Paul’s Foundation – Supporting elder care in five health care senior residences.
Net Ministries of Canada – Helping young people love Christ and embrace the life of the Church.
Signal Hill Life Education – Promotes the value of human life through education and support services.
