Educating for Mission: The Splendor of Truth

The Archbishop’s Dinner has become a way for the faithful of the Archdiocese of Vancouver to gather and to hear updates from our Archbishop on the activities of the past year and where we are headed in the coming year.

The Beneficiary

The funds raised at this year's Archbishop's Dinner will support the formation of Catholic educators, catechists and ministry leaders at our schools and parishes. Additional funds will be directed toward teaching and research at our Catholic institutions of higher learning.

Where We Stand

The Church teaches that parents have the original, primary, and inalienable right to form and educate their children in conformity with their moral and religious convictions. At the same time, most parents share these responsibilities with teachers, catechists, and parish leaders.

The Archdiocese of Vancouver emphasizes the formation of educators and lay ministry leaders who partner with parents in nurturing the spiritual and academic growth of young people through Catholic education and spiritual formation.

The Need

To continue providing high-quality Catholic education as a service to parents and families, our Catholic school educators and lay ministry leaders must receive ongoing formation that deepens their faith and equips them to address the emerging pastoral needs of students. Your support will ensure our Educational institutes remain rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition and contribute to advancing our mission of evangelization in the modern world.

The Most Reverend J. Michael Miller, CSB, was installed as Archbishop of Vancouver on January 2, 2009. For 15 years, Archbishop Michael has generously served the local Church with pastoral and administrative excellence. Archbishop Michael is recognized internationally as an authority on Catholic education, having served as Secretary for the Congregation for Catholic Education and having written the book, The Holy See’s Teaching on Catholic Schools. Your donation to the 2024 Archbishop’s Dinner will help ensure the local legacy of Archbishop Michael, our beloved Shepherd.
