Thank You for a Record-Breaking $7.7 Million
Raised
for Project Advance 2024
The Archdiocese of Vancouver is pleased to announce that Project Advance 2024 has achieved a historic milestone, raising an unprecedented $7.7 million to support vital ministries, programs, and outreach efforts across the Archdiocese.
This year’s record-breaking success reflects the extraordinary generosity of 13,758 parishioners and donors who answered the call to give back to their communities and support the mission of the Church. With the theme “Building our Parish Community,” Project Advance 2024 focused on fostering unity, strengthening parishes, and funding critical initiatives. Through the parish rebate program, $4.28 million will be distributed to parishes for local projects.
The funds raised through Project Advance 2024 will:
- Strengthen Catholic education by constructing new secondary schools
- Bring spiritual care to healthcare facilities
- Spread the Catholic faith through programs like Alpha, Discover Discipleship, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and PREP
- Evangelize the next generation through parish youth programs and Archdiocesan young adult ministry support
- Advocate for social justice by combating human trafficking, welcoming refugees, and supporting migrant workers
- Strengthen family life with programs for marriage preparation, parenting, and relationship enrichment
- Foster hope and healing for prisoners, former inmates, and those impacted by crime
- Provide outreach and faith formation within Filipino, Chinese, Hispanic and Indigenous communities
- Disperse grants to other charities who are partnered in our shared mission of evangelization and outreach such as Catholic Christian Outreach, Catholic Addictions Recovery Ministries, Catholic Street Missionaries and more
Project Advance has been a cornerstone of the Archdiocese’s efforts to strengthen parishes across the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Sunshine Coast for over 40 years. As we reflect on this past year’s success, we are reminded of the profound blessings God has bestowed upon our community. The generosity of our parishioners reflects a deep commitment to stewardship, recognizing that all we have is a gift from God.

Frequently Asked Questions
Each parish in the Archdiocese is assessed a financial goal for Project Advance. Once that goal has been reached, all additional gifts (less the parish’s share of expenses) is returned to the parish for its own use. For example, parishes have used the rebate to fund upgrades to the parish, expand their buildings, replace equipment, etc. To date, over $100 million dollars has been rebated to our parishes. The Project Advance rebate is not subject to the cathedraticum tax.
